Study overseas options

The University offers several programs to support you to study overseas whilst enrolled in your UniMelb degree. You can undertake studies overseas through a number of different programs:

Exchange

Exchange students remain enrolled at the University of Melbourne and are also enrolled into a host institution overseas. Students continue to pay tuition fees to the University of Melbourne and do not pay any tuition fees to their host university.  Read further on how you can go on exchange.

Find out where you can go by browsing Partner Institutions.

Short-term Programs

Short-term programs give you the opportunity to study overseas for 3-6 weeks and gain 12.5 or 25 credit points towards your degree. Experience new cultures, develop critical employability skills and prepare for a global future – all without the long-term commitment of a semester or year-long program.

Explore our winter term (June-July) programs or our summer term (Nov-Feb) programs to find out what opportunities may be available for you.

Applications open and close on a rolling basis. Winter term applications open between February to May and Summer term applications open between September to November.
