Program Description:
BHGAP logo
The Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley campus, near San Francisco, is now offering the Berkeley Haas Global Access Program (BHGAP).  This provides unique access to the Haas School of Business academics, subjects and networks within the innovation ecosystem of the San Francisco Bay area and Silicon Valley. Qualifying international students gain the knowledge, mindset, skills and connections necessary to excel as innovators and global leaders. The core curriculum emphasizes entrepreneurship, innovation and transformative leadership in digital and global markets.

Which subjects are available?

Students participating in the BHGAP will take:
  • three core Haas subjects(5 units total);
  • two Haas electives* (4–6 units) in the following subject areas: marketing, leadership, entrepreneurship and/or finance; and
  • an additional elective* outside of business from the main UC Berkeley course catalogue
As not all subjects will be offered each semester, you should refer to the BHGAP curriculum web page for current information.

*Graduate students must ensure that they are selecting subjects in the advanced track only (i.e. elective subjects that commence with MBA). Graduate students must also ensure that they are selecting a graduate subject for the additional elective.

How much does it cost?

US$19,900 for the semester of study (approximately A$27,785 at 21 February, 2019).  For more information about the expenses, see the BHGAP Costs page.

Financial Support

The University offers various forms of financial support which are detailed on the Melbourne Mobility Awards webpage.
There are also $5000 scholarships available for BHGAP (from the program itself). Students are able to apply for the scholarship within the program application. The scholarship deadline is October 19th so students must apply to the program by this deadline in order to be eligible for a scholarship.

How to proceed?

You must meet the usual eligibility criteria for semester-long study overseas to participate in this program; preference will be given to students with WAM's of 75% or higher.  To begin, apply using the application link above; it will be made live in the first three weeks of each semester.  When your application has been assessed and approved here, you will then be required to complete the Berkeley Haas application by their deadline. Do NOT complete the Berkeley application before gaining Melbourne approval. Please ensure you complete the Melbourne application with plenty of time to complete the Berkeley application based on the below deadlines.

Berkeley Hass Application Process

The Berkeley Haas Global Access Program has a priority application deadline of October 15th 2019. Students who apply by this deadline will receive their application results by November 1st 2019. Self-pay students can submit an online application on the BHGAP website. 

What students need to apply:

  • Financial statement and certification
  • Passport photo identification page
  • Proof of English-language proficiency
  • Academic transcripts

The final deadline for BHGAP is still November 18th 2019 however, you are encouraged to apply early if possible.
